Morning at the EM Mills Memorial Rose Garden, Thornden Park, Syracuse, New York

July 1, 2011 – I intended to enjoy this beautiful garden in the soft, early sunlight, but the morning got away from me. I also had intended to go there mid-June, during the peak of rose season in Upstate New York. I wish I had, as a woman touring the garden described the rosy scent that had perfumed the air, and the bloom-covered arches which now display more green leaves than colored blossoms…there’s always next year.
