Moonlit Road Through Red Forest

I had fun creating this ethereal woodland scene I originally photographed on a hike in Massachusetts. It features a road leading through a red forest. Moonlight streams through the leaves, making dappled shadows on the forest floor. A dark gray vignette wreaths the perimeter of the image. New in my shops today, look hereĀ for the […]

Barn and Country Landscape

Shop here for this photo. I photographed this barn and rural landscape in Central New York on a lovely October day while on our way to Howe Caverns (Caves! They’re amazing!) I am grateful that my family is patient every time pull over in the car to take photos…

Winter Sunrise

Here in Central New York, we have already seen more than two feet of snow. I shot this image the winter we spent in Central Massachusetts. The delicate leaves of the lovely Japanese maple in our side yard were surprisingly resilient, withstanding the weight of the icy snow long into winter.

Ethereal Marsala Austrian Forest

It’s been one year since my family traveled to Austria. Even my ten and eleven year-old daughters appreciated the cleanliness of the pristine mountain towns, and the healthy lifestyle – hiking and eating fresh, wholesome food – of its inhabitants. I photographed these woods as we followed the trail to Festung Hohensalzburg, the fortress perched […]

Sandy Neck Beach, Cape Cod, in October

Sandy Neck Beach in the Town of Barnstable on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is a barrier beach comprised of 4700 wonderful acres. Temporarily marked in the sand are the footprints from beach-goers who have come and gone. The fading color of the beach grass is the only clue that this photo was shot in late October. […]

Geometric Architecture in Black and White

From Hohensalzburg, the white fortress situated high above the city of Salzburg, Austria, one can enjoy gorgeous views. Here, the clean lines of the triangular roofs and rectangular windows in the foreground contrast with the soft, curved lines of the clouds and mountains in the landscape beyond. A click on the image will bring you […]

Lone Maple Tree

We are so fortunate to live in a community where fresh produce, meat, honey, syrup, eggs, and many more goods are grown and produced. There is an Open Farm Day once each summer which allows us to visit the farms to see how they operate. On Open Farm Day we were driving between farms and […]

Peonies

I love peonies. A riotous display of their pink blossoms can help the blandest yard look pretty. It is difficult to understand how such a mass of showy petals can fit into this small bud. As much as a peony in full bloom is stunning, the understated elegance of a peony bud is beautiful in […]
