While I do enjoy the quiet in the house when I wake up before my family, I am more apt to make a coffee and get to work than I am to hop in the car with my camera. But on this morning, the moody atmosphere created by the fog drew me outdoors.
It was autumn and many leaves still clung to the trees. When I saw this stand of woods with the leaves looking so beautiful against the backdrop of gray, I stopped quickly and took the shot, eager to get the car moving again so I wouldn’t pose a danger on the roadside.
What I hadn’t noticed until I had the image on my computer screen was what really makes this photo unique: The trees winding around one another. From reading on the subject, I know I am not alone in sometimes personifying nature. To me it appears as though they are embracing.
Originally in coral, I worked with a client to customize this burgundy color. Another customer who purchased my original image left a review which I find very gratifying: “I saw this artwork and had to have it on my bedroom wall. Every time I look at it I love it again…”
