THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

My Cape Cod Lighthouse art features Wood End Light in Provincetown, MA, on Cape Cod. The hike over the jetty is precarious – go when the tide is low! – but it is a worthwhile journey. My black and white photo composite features the lighthouse backed by a starry sky. I wanted to present the lighthouse as it might be seen if fully illuminated at night, while retaining the stars in the black sky.

Since my youth, I have been fascinated by the night sky. I spent many peaceful nights in my back yard in the country with chirping crickets and my telescope. My hope is that this image allows the viewer a moment of quiet contemplation.

Unmatted and unframed. Printed with pigment inks on matte paper, the image extends to the edge. It will be signed and numbered ON THE BACK with archival ink, and you will receive a certificate of authenticity.
