THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

My John Wing Island print features the wooden set of boards leading to John Wing Island. It is neutral, soft sepia with a pronounced, deliberate grain> Please see the DETAIL photo provided.

I have photographed this scene using a 720nm infrared filter on a full-spectrum-converted camera. Infrared photography allows us to see the world illuminated by light invisible to the human eye. It reflects off foliage, creating a soft, otherworldly glow. Infrared light is also absorbed by water and sky, resulting in high-contrast images with an ephemeral, dream-like quality.

I hope this image allows the viewer to experience a moment of quiet and calm while also appreciating the light reflecting off the grasses and foliage.

Unmatted and unframed. Printed with pigment inks on matte paper, the image extends to the edge. It will be signed and numbered ON THE BACK with archival ink, and you will receive a certificate of authenticity.
