THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
Possibly inspired by birds in Shakespeare’s works, Eugene Schieffelin released around 60 European Starlings into Central Park in 1890, and they are now considered an invasive species. Here, I’ve showcased one innocent Starling perched on branches adorned with budding leaves in spring and summer shades of yellow and pink. I used a polarizer filter while shooting to achieve a dark blue sky which I’ve made a dark teal blue, mimicking the Starling’s iridescent feathers. I’ve layered the image with many textures; please refer to the detailed images.
