THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
City dwellers are typically deprived of seeing a starry night sky. My photomontage allows the viewer to imagine seeing stars above New York City. A couple rows a boat surrounded by trees. The color of the passenger’s sweater is repeated in the leaves and The Eldorado, which reflects off the water. Layered with faint textures.
Since my youth, I have been fascinated by the night sky. I spent many peaceful nights in the back yard with my telescope and chirping crickets. My photomontages allow the viewer moments of quiet contemplation and serve as reminders that the universe beyond Earth is there always. I have conveyed this here by using the night sky against daylight – brightened objects in the foreground.
