The Cassiopeia series explores both the human contemplation of and disregard for the universe beyond earth. Since my youth, I have been fascinated by the night sky. I photographed the constellation Cassiopeia and chose to use it consistently throughout the series because, according to myth, it represents human vanity.

Whether one contemplates or disregards the universe beyond, it is there always. I have tried to convey this here by using the darkest night sky against daylight – brightened objects in the foreground.

My limited edition prints are signed and numbered, and include a certificate of authenticity. Prices may increase as editions sell. Printed with a 1″ border on Kodak Endura Professional Lustre paper, unmatted and unframed. They will ship in a rigid tube. This image is available in the following limited edition sizes.
